Hotel Demetria

A Spanish style was called for Azzurra Capri’s photo shoot of the new collection, which brought us to Guadalajara, Mexico, known for their mixture of architectural styles. Of course, our number one priority was seeking out the “it” hotel of this urban city. Hotel Demetria, located in the central Lafayette neighborhood, is the current hot spot in town.

1521643_579334078854503_7838706691505481146_nThis boutique hotel offers a modern, luxurious ambiance with a hip twist. Our favorite extra dirty martinis were served up upon our arrival in an artsy little bar off of the lobby. We loved all of the cultural and fashion coffee table books and the open windows leading to a view of the modern landscaped garden that surrounded the hotel.

10341456_580755662045678_8912902559314200117_nHotel Demetria’s modern comfort style continued into the suites and included an outdoor deck, perfect for popping a bottle of champagne on…the perfect pregame. But, don’t party too late because the brunch spread is a must! From freshly squeezed exotic juices to their traditional chilaquiles, offering the perfect continental hangover cure.

It’s not a vacation however, until some pool time is included. Check out the rooftop pool deck and be pampered by staff, serving fresh fruit popsicles and iced towels while baking in Guadalajara’s hot sun. Don’t forget the SPF!

Beautiful Sorrento

Winding off the Amalfi Coast, with breathtaking views of the Tyrrhenian Sea all around us, we approached the town of Sorrento. MPANDJAP zip into the drive way of the Grand Hotel La Favorita, in the sporty Fiat 500 we rented. The bellman was shocked that we managed to fit so many suitcases into such a small car.

As we checked into the hotel, we felt instantly in love with the elegant decor. The Italian crystal chandeliers and the artisanal handcrafted furniture were exquisite touches to the lobby. The friendly staff continued greeting us with a welcome basket full of our favorite travel essentials in our deluxe suite with views of the sea and charming architecture, including a view of the oldest church in Sorrento. After a long trip, taking a bath in the jacuzzi tub sounded very welcoming in the Carrara marble bathroom with a glass of Prosecco. After a little R&R we put on our Louboutins for dinner.

Among the quaint artisan workshops packed together onto a maze of medieval alleys, we stumbled upon L’Antica Trattoria. We were greeted by the son of the family owned restaurant and were taken to sit in the “Pink Room” at a romantic candlelit table. Of course we were adventurous and went with the Chef’s Tasting Menu, paired with all local wines. The 10-course meal offered a gourmet palette of what the Mediterranean had to offer. Everything had truly amazing flavors, impossible to recreate. Make sure after an exquisite dinner in Sorrento you walk around the town square, Piazza Tasso. During the holiday, every evening you will be entertained by a different performance.

The next morning we went downstairs in search of a cappuccino and stumbled upon a grand breakfast spread. For all you classic jetsetters, you can find your all American breakfast options or venture out to the Italian style with a cornetto and cappuccino served on Tiffany blue fine china. The elegant silver spoons were a classic touch to remember.

Unfortunately, it was time to move on to our next adventure, leaving behind our newest home away from home, Grand Hotel La Favorita. We loved that the hotel was only 2 years old and had luxurious 5-star accommodations. From the spacious bedrooms and baths to the grand balconies with breathtaking views, its a must to stay here. Grand Hotel La Favorita is the perfect spot for destinations weddings, with an enchanting citrus garden to have an Aperitivo to the grand ballroom for further celebration. Not only is the hotel a romantic spot for a getaway of any type but it is also kid friendly. We can’t wait to stay here again in the summer!

A Taste of Azuki

7405743178_a1fab259f9_zHoneymoon Oyster

Shinen (Quality): We believe in only the highest quality ingredients. We carefully choose the freshest and the best ingredients in the market.

As soon as MPANDJAP arrived at Azuki, a local neighborhood gem which stands for Red Bean in Japanese and is meant to bring good luck, we felt like we had finally found the perfect place for a Friday night dinner. House music was playing in the background and the lighting was perfection. We were ushered to a private table for two out on the back terrace, which ended up to be quite the scene and inspired MP to have her birthday dinner celebration here in days to come.

You can do the usual and choose off of the menu, or go with the VIP treatment like we did and ask for the chef specials. We started with the Honeymoon oysters, a combination of Uni, MP’s favorite and caviar, JAP’s must have. Followed by an Omakase “leave it to you” sashimi selection which paired very well with Kubota Manjyu ‘Ten Thousand Dreams’ Niigata, a crisp Sake. To showcase Azuki’s vegetarian menu, a sushi roll was served with tomatoes on top that resembled tuna sashimi stuffed with asparagus and other veggies. Did we mention that all of their produce comes from local farmers with an incredible selection of pure organic options? Azuki also offers a shellfish free menu for those of you with any allergies.

The back terrace is the perfect place to host a party, complete with candlelight dinners & posh music. Sit down with the manager and plan out your 6-course meal for all your guests in advance, or be worry free and have them take care of it from the start. Don’t forget to request a special cake to be made specifically for you and the occasion, MP’s birthday cake was our favorite!

36 Hours in Dallas

We just landed at DFW airport, picked up our three suitcases…one suitcase for every 10 hours…and headed over to Hertz. After seeing the long line, it pays off to be a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Member. After searching our names on the screen, we were instantly directed to our Prestige Collection vehicle. We say to each other, “doesn’t this thing come with a driver?” Next stop, Drybar!

To play into our Texas role, we chose the Southern Comfort off the menu. Leaving the blow out bar with our larger than life hair, we dashed off to the Rosewood Mansion to check in. While sipping on Cliquot, we played dress up out of our trunks and chose our outfits for dinner. With our Manolos and Azzurra Capri on foot, it was time to head over to Le Bilboquet for dinner!

On an unusually cool summer evening, it was a must to be seated outside in the French-style tables and open up a bottle of 1996 Billecart-Salmon, followed by the mushroom truffle risotto and halibut with caviar. Not wanting to call it an evening quite yet, Hotel Zaza was having a Veuve event that could not be missed. We felt at home with the champagne flowing and a young, hip crowd.

The next morning, not feeling our freshest, we were in search for the “it” yoga studio in town. All rumors had it that the Dallas Yoga Center was the place to take Shakti Vinyasa, a fusion class of vinyasa and bellydancing. After regaining our third eye’s center, our appointments at the Rosewood Crescent Hotel Spa were waiting. Relaxed and refreshed, it was time to shop.

First stop, the trendy Highland Park Village where all the who-of-who in fashion have their boutiques, from novelties like Christian Louboutin and Hermès to Five and Ten, the designer boutique store. Knowing that you can’t go to Dallas without going to the Neiman Marcus flagship store on Main Street, so we headed straight there. As we slipped off our sandals to try on Charlotte Olympia’s Zodiac Flats, finding out Cancer and Virgo are the perfect match, a must-have!

It’s time to get the perfect everyday bag for Fall; our favorite include the Nightingale Satchel by Givenchy, the new Stella McCartney Falabella Crossbody, and the bold Victoria Beckham Tote. Don’t forget to request free shipping to have your items perfectly boxed and waiting for you at your doorstep. Sadly, our trip came to an end and it was time to catch our flight back home.

Dallas was a surprisingly hip and chic city, we’ll be back soon!

Love Y’all,
